Museums in the Classroom

In 1996 the Orpheum Children's Science Museum was one of seven museums in Champaign County to be awarded a Museums in the Classroom grant from the Illinois State Department of Education. The grant provided computers and other hardware for each of the museums, as well as a connection to the Internet. Its purpose is to encourage children in 29 partner schools around the state to use the museums as resources for online research projects.

For a CD with information about the Museums at the Crossroads Consortium, please ask during your next visit to OCSM.

Our online resource, "The Scientific Method and the Human Body," provides activities for classroom or home use. Have fun!
